After years of bowing and bringing hands together, a symbol of respect and oneness, I began receiving an intuitive 'message' - when I started to enact the ritual of reverence, not to bring my two hands together. So, I would bring the hands toward one another, as usual, and let them rest apart. What was left? Two. This was sensed as a reminder to honor duality. I have taught for many years that nonduality does not merely transcend "two..." into a single One that annuls "two...". Yes, we can have a realization of Oneness, and progressively live under that influence and inspiration. The duality the One creates, however, integral to nature and relationships, is to be honored and embraced fully, even gladly. Union with Grace leads us into a new and more full, more intimate connection with the diversity of life and relationships. Whatever I know of Union - and I claim to know nothing -, ... I love this diversity we live among, even with the pain that comes with participating in this world, much lost, and even though not as convinced as once that the outcome will be commendable for the human race, for us. Possibly, I was naive. Now, I realize I am not part of some spiritual movement to save the earth or humanity. I am here to love life and get close to it. If I trust the Beloved One, I have no need to try to determine or guide the outcome of what is happening all around me, around us. I am on no save something or someone mission. I am not here to leave some memorable legacy. In this detached Loving is Peace. I play my part in this Orchestra of Grace and will leave, then, quietly - even as I came -, laying down the instrument of body, and - I pray - having given most of all myself, which is all Life has ever asked of me, anyway.
